The front face (obverse) of the Year of the Dog displays a German Shepherd, with the Chinese symbol for dog. On the Rim of the round you can find the rounds purity and size noted with One Troy Ounce z and .999 Silver. Golden State Mint at the bottom.

On the reverse of the Year of the Dog Round there is an attractive wheel design that depicts all twelve animals, along with their Chinese symbol, that are represented in the Chinese zodiac; the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.
