With horns reaching nearly ten feet in length, the Texas longhorn is easily one of America’s most iconic cattle breeds. Long associated with cowboys and ranchers, the longhorn was made the official state large mammal of Texas in 1995. Longhorns have proved especially reliable during cattle drives in part because they can feed on brush while going days without water. The Texas longhorns are also the name of a beloved college football team from the University of Texas at Austin.

Each 1 oz Don’t Mess with Texas Longhorn Round was struck in .999 pure silver at Intaglio Mint. This private mint was established in 2010 and is currently based in Sedalia Colorado. These rounds are considered new and will arrive in either individual flips or plastic tubes of 20.

The obverse of 1 oz Don’t Mess with Texas Silver Rounds features a spectacular longhorn design. In this rendering, the longhorn is depicted mid-stride as it roams across the Texas prairie. This design is the second overall in the Don’t Mess with Texas collection.

On the reverse side of Don’t Mess with Texas Longhorn Silver Rounds the official series insignia is found. This logo features a longhorn skull in the center with branches of oak and olive on either side. There is also an outline of Texas with a lone star on the forehead of the skull. Accompanying this imagery are inscriptions reading Don’t Mess with Texas, One Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver.
