The Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act was approved by Nevada voters on November 8, 2016. This act permitted adults age 21 and up to legally possess one ounce of cannabis starting January 1, 2017. The act also stipulated that possession was only permissible in a private residence. Individuals possessing cannabis in a public space can still be prosecuted.

The obverse of Legalized Collection Nevada Copper Rounds features the official series logo. This consists of a large cannabis leaf in the center with handcuffs. In the cuffs is a pair of fists yearning to break free. Additional design features include a chain across the border and inscriptions reading Legalized, Nature’s Medicine, and Hemp for Industry.

While traditionally this might have been a mining town, in this rendition it has been transformed into a hemp paradise.
